What is an individual lease? How does it benefit me?
An individual lease means that each resident signs a separate lease contract, and each resident is responsible only for the rent on his/her bedroom. If one roommate does not pay rent or breaks his/her lease, the other roommates are not responsible for rent or damages in that person's bedroom.

What is roommate matching? How does it work?
Roommate matching is the process by which roommates are matched together using roommate profiles. You can utilize our roommate matching service to find one or more roommates, or you can bring all of your own roommates.

When will I receive my apartment number and roommate assignment(s)?
Apartment numbers are assigned after roommate assignments have been completed and finalized. Depending upon the date your lease is signed, you will be contacted with your apartment assignment and the names of your roommate(s).

What items should I bring from home?
Your apartment will be fully furnished. You will need to bring personal items, such as: linens, pillows, blankets, comforters, clothes hangers, shower curtains, wastebaskets, cooking and eating utensils, cleaning supplies, etc. You will also want to bring any other items or accessories to personalize and decorate your home (pictures, rugs, posters, etc).

What furniture comes in the apartment?
Your apartment will be fully furnished. Each bedroom has a full-size bed (includes mattress, boxspring, and bedframe), 5 drawer chest, and student desk & chair set. The living area will have a 3-seater sofa, sofa chair or sectional sofa, coffee table, end table, and tv stand. Depending upon floor-plan size, your dining area will either contain one barstool for each person or a dining table with 4 chairs. Check the locations page and the there will be a designer furniture package link for each property.

Is it possible to bring my own furniture?
You are welcome to bring additional items that will fit comfortably with the furniture that is already in the apartment. However, we typically cannot remove the furniture that is already provided, due to storage issues. Please feel free to contact your property manager if you need more detailed information.

What appliances come in the apartment?
Your apartment will have name-brand household appliances including: washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, oven & range, full-size refrigerator, etc.

What appliances/electronics may I bring?
Some items that you may want to bring include: stereo, television, hair dryer, vacuum cleaner, iron, etc.

What can I expect on Move-In Day?
Move-In Day is the day that your lease contract begins, and the first day that you may pick up keys to your apartment. You will need to connect electricity and pay rent before or on Move-In Day. Typically, all new residents will be moving in on the same day, so expect a lot of activity. The office will have staff members and signs posted to help facilitate a smooth move-in. You will be mailed a “Welcome” letter prior to move-in that will provide you with detailed information about what to expect. Please bring a check or money order as we do not accept cash.

How do I connect electricity?
When you receive your “Welcome” letter, you will want to contact the electric provider listed and open a new account for the apartment number that you have been assigned. You should arrange for service to begin no later than the day that your lease contract begins. You may want to confirm with your roommates that an account has not already been established.

What if I can’t make it on Move-In Day?
If you cannot pick-up keys on Move-In Day, you are welcome to pick up keys during normal office hours at a later date. However, you must make sure that your rental payment is received and electricity is connected by the date your lease starts (Move-In Day).

Where do I park? Do I need a parking permit?
You may park in any open parking spot that is not otherwise designated. Please do not park in covered parking, handicap, fire-lanes or tow-away zones or your vehicle will be towed at your expense. You will need an Exchange Resident permit if you are an Exchange Resident parking in open parking. You will need an Exchange Covered Parking permit if you have a covered parking spot.

How do I access the limited access gates into the community?
You will be issued a gate-access remote when you pick up the keys to your apartment.

How do I access the pedestrian gates and 24 hour amenities?
You will be issued a remote-access card when you pick up your keys. This card will enable you to access all pedestrian gates and
after-hours facilities.

How do I use the free tanning bed?
Tanning appointments are scheduled every 30 minutes during office hours. Contact the leasing office to make an appointment.

What do I do if I need to request maintenance?
You may contact the leasing office to put in a maintenance request.

How do I receive mail?
Each apartment will have one mailbox. If you receive a package that is too big to be put in the box, you will receive a notice to pick it up at the office.
